The construction and width of the rim has a significant effect on the stiffness of the wheel. For this reason, mountain bike rims, in particular, have recently become noticably wider. New, lighter contruction and materials make this possible without adding significant weight. In this category you will find rims for 29" mountain bikes with disc brakes and also 28" trekking and gravel bikes. These bikes all use the same ETRTO 622 rim diameter.
