Women's ultralight waterproof backup trousers made of synthetic partially recycled material.
The trousers have a waterproof DWR treatment, with reinforced Ripstop protection in critical areas to prevent tears. Windproof, of course.
There is an elasticated waistband and two handy zipped pockets on the sides. The zippers at the end of the legs ensure easy pulling on over the shoes.
Durable Water Repellent (DWR) is a durable coating added to fabrics at the factory to make them water repellent (hydrophobic). While the coating is effective, it also wears off and as such is recommended to be renewed/maintained with impregnating agents.
Ripstop is a fabric with high strength, made using a special technique. Thin threads are woven into the fabric at a distance of 5-8 mm, giving it a articulated structure. This provides increased tear strength. In practice, it works by causing the tear to jam against the reinforced fibers which prevent it from continuing. Ripstop was developed in the USA during the Second World War for parachutes.
