9point8 Canadian seatpost with unique design featuring internal cable routing.
The seatpost operates with extremely low air pressure of 25-45psi, which means it virtually does not strain any seals (pressure is up to 10-15 times lower than the competition). It contains no oil, thus eliminating the risk of oil leakage or sluggishness in winter. The seatpost features a unique DropLoc mechanical brake (for example, if you lift the bike by the retracted seat, it won't extend under your hand). It has an original anti-rotation system and compared to the competition, has absolutely minimal operational play. The sliding parts are coated with an extremely durable black titanium layer.
It offers a choice of head for attaching carbon rails (oval) or for round - classic rails and user-friendly micro-adjustment of the saddle tilt and fore-aft position.
The head is straight with an inline version. The seatpost allows for bidirectional cable routing - meaning it doesn't matter whether there's a cable end or an open cable near the seatpost.
The lever is not included in the package - the seatpost is compatible with any mechanical lever on the market. However, 9point8 offers two types of levers sold separately for operating their seatposts:
- The 9.8 ThumB allows cable attachment only from the cable end. It can be mounted on either side of the handlebar, vertically or horizontally, and when horizontally, both above and below the handlebar.
- The 9.8 Digit, which can only be mounted on the underside of the left side of the handlebar. The cable can only terminate in the Digit lever (not the end with the cable housing). Mounting can be done with a clamp or using Shimano, Sram, and other standards.
