9point8 Canadian seatpost with a unique design, featuring internal cable routing.
The seatpost operates with an extremely low air pressure of 25-45 psi, which virtually puts no stress on the seals (pressure up to 10-15 times lower than the competition). It does not contain any oil filling, eliminating the risk of oil leakage or sluggishness in winter. The seatpost features a unique mechanical brake called DropLoc (for example, if you lift the bike by the retracted saddle, it won't slide out from under your hand). It has an original anti-rotation system and compared to competitors, it has absolutely minimal operational play. The sliding parts are coated with an extremely durable black titanium layer.
Option to choose the seatpost head for attaching carbon seat rails (oval) or for round - classic rails, with user-friendly micro-adjustment of saddle tilt and fore-aft position.
The head is straight with an inline version. The seatpost allows for bi-directional cable routing - meaning it doesn't matter whether the cable end or free end is at the seatpost.
The lever is not included in the package - the seatpost is compatible with any mechanical lever on the market. However, 9point8 offers two types of levers separately for controlling their seatposts:
- The 9.8 ThumB allows for cable attachment only from the cable end. You can place it on both sides of the handlebar, vertically or horizontally, and if horizontally, both above and below the handlebar.
- The 9.8 Digit, which can only be attached to the left side of the handlebar from underneath. The cable can only end in the Digit lever (not the side with the cable end). Attachment to the handlebars is possible with a clamp or with Shimano, Sram, and other standards.
