9point8 Canadian seatpost with unique design, featuring internal cable routing and the R version is a lighter version of the Fall Line model. It has a redesigned seal system and a simpler clamp release for greasing during the season, which can be loosened by hand.
The seatpost operates with an extremely low air pressure of 25-45psi, which virtually eliminates stress on any seals (pressure is 10-15x lower than the competition). It contains no oil fill, eliminating the risk of oil leakage or sluggishness in winter. The seatpost features its own unique mechanical brake DropLoc (for instance, if you lift the bike by the retracted seat, it won't pull out under your hand). It has an original anti-rotation system and compared to the competition, it has virtually minimal operational play. The sliding parts are coated with an extremely durable black titanium layer.
The option to choose a head for attachment to carbon saddle rails (oval) or for round - classic rails and user-friendly micro-adjustment of the tilt and fore-aft position of the seat.
The head is straight with an inline version. The seatpost allows for bidirectional cable routing - meaning it doesn't matter if there's a lead piece or a loose end at the seatpost.
The lever is not included in the package - the seatpost is compatible with any mechanical lever on the market. However, 9point8 offers two types of levers separately for controlling their seatposts:
- 9.8 ThumB allows the cable to attach only from the lead piece. You can mount it on either side of the handlebars, vertically or horizontally, and if horizontally, both above and below the handlebars.
- 9.8 Digit, which can only be mounted on the left side under the handlebars. The cable can only end in the Digit lever (not the side with the lead piece). Mounting on the handlebars with a clamp or even Shimano, Sram, and other standards.
