The Campagnolo Super Record 12x2 cassette is composed of 12 steel cogs, featuring specialized ramped teeth on their inner side to contribute to smoother and faster shifting.
Six larger cogs are divided into two sets of three, each precisely machined using CNC technology from a single piece of material. This eliminates the potential risk of individual cogs loosening in the connecting pins. Both sets of cogs are treated with a special surface finish in a characteristic golden hue (differing from the finish on individual cogs), which enhances the longevity of the cassette.
The remaining 6 smaller cogs are treated with a Nickel-Chrome finish to ensure high durability and smooth operation during shifting.
Compared to 11s systems, the width of individual cogs has been reduced from 1.6 mm to 1.45 mm. The spacer width has been adjusted from 2.2/2.3 mm to 2.05 mm and the spacers are now manufactured from aluminum.
Campagnolo has applied a new technology called the Anti stuck chain system to the new 12s cassettes. This involves special teeth on the outer side of the largest cog. These special teeth prevent the chain from potentially getting stuck between the cog and the rear wheel spokes (if the chain incorrectly slips beyond the largest cog, it won't jam, but when shifting back to smaller cogs, the chain effectively returns onto the cassette).
The cassettes are available in the following configurations: 11-29 / 11-32 / 11-34.
Compatibility with wheel sets: 12s cassettes are compatible with all Campagnolo wheel sets/hubs designed for 9s/10s and 11s cassettes.
