Cervélo Caledonia-5 Frameset Sandstone

Description

Cervélo Caledonia-5 Frameset Five Black is a road frameset designed for fast endurance riding. It sits in the performance category of top-tier carbon frames, with an emphasis on long-term comfort and precise handling. It serves as the foundation for building a disc-brake road bike with a high level of integration.

Frame and geometry

The frame is made of carbon and is designed for internal routing of cables and hoses. The geometry combines an endurance position with a typically road-like response under acceleration and changes in pace. In size 56, it has a reach of 387 mm and a stack of 580 mm. Chainstay length is 415 mm and wheelbase is 1013 mm, supporting stability at high speed.

Components

Drivetrain: This is a frameset without components, intended for a build with a road groupset to the chosen standard. The routing integration supports internal routing for both mechanical and electronic shifting.

Brakes: Both the frame and fork use Flat mount disc brake mounts. The specific rotor diameter depends on the selected calipers and adapter.

Wheels and tires: The frame is built around 700c wheels for road and endurance use. Tire clearance is up to 41 mm without fenders.

Cockpit: Standard equipment includes carbon handlebars, a stem, and a seatpost from Cervélo’s own range. The cockpit is prepared for clean internal routing of hoses and cables.

Ride characteristics

The combination of a taller stack and an endurance position reduces fatigue during long hours in the saddle. Downhill stability is supported by the 1013 mm wheelbase in size 56 and consistent trail across sizes. Clearance up to 41 mm makes it possible to run higher-volume tires, improving mechanical comfort on rougher asphalt. Internal routing reduces aerodynamic losses and protects the cables from dirt.

Who it’s for

This frameset is intended for experienced road riders building a bike for ultra-distance riding, fast training rides, and long hilly routes. It will appeal to riders who want the comfort of endurance geometry without moving away from sporty handling. In practice, it also makes sense for an endurance build with wider tires and fenders.
