Cervélo S5 Frameset Reef Blue frame set

Description

Cervélo S5 Frameset Reef Blue is a road racing frameset for building an aerodynamic bike in a high-performance class. It targets riders focused on speed on the flats, in sprints, and on fast descents. It’s a system frame with an integrated cockpit and internal routing for clean aerodynamics.

Frame and geometry

The frame is made from a carbon composite with aerodynamic tube shaping and an asymmetrical seat tube profile. The front end uses a bayonet-style carbon fork and a deeper head tube profile to reduce air resistance. The geometry is race-focused, with a 405 mm chainstay length across sizes 48 to 61. Reach is 367–409 mm and stack 496–608 mm depending on size, supporting a low, race-ready riding position.

Components

Drivetrain: The frameset is designed for electronic drivetrains only. The bottom bracket is BBright pressfit for road cranks and a wide bearing stance.

Brakes: The frame and fork use flat mount caliper mounts for disc brakes. The set is built around modern road hydraulic disc brakes.

Wheels and tires: The frame is designed for 700C road wheels. The rear axle is 12x142 mm for secure clamping and precise tracking.

Cockpit: The package includes the integrated one-piece HB19 Plus-Four bar-stem. It also includes a carbon seatpost for clean routing and aerodynamics.

Ride characteristics

The aerodynamic shaping of the frame and fork is aimed at reducing drag at speeds typical of road racing. The Plus-Four concept combines a narrower grip on the hoods with a wider drop position for stability on descents. Thru-axles and disc brakes support precise line control when braking into corners. Race geometry with longer reach in larger sizes keeps the rider low and forward.

Who it’s for

The frameset is intended for experienced road racers and performance-oriented riders building a bike with electronic shifting and disc brakes. It makes the most sense for criteriums, high-average-speed races, and fast rolling courses. Compared with more all-round road frames, it emphasizes cockpit integration and an aerodynamic system approach.
