DT SWISS - PHR WASHERS
Pro Head Rim (PHR) washers have a unique shape—specifically, a hyperbolic paraboloid. Thanks to this shape, the load-bearing surface of the nipples on the rim is increased and the stress concentration in the rim holes is reduced. The PHR washer shape automatically aligns the specific DT Swiss Squorx (Pro Head) nipples and together they function like a ball joint, further reducing the risk of spoke failure and rim cracking.
PHR washers are specifically designed for DT Swiss rims (including RR, GR, HX, EX, MX and XR Premium/non-eyelet rims). Although the washer shape may be compatible with similar rim profiles, they are not recommended for use on other rims.
When installing PHR washers, make sure the washers sit flat in the rim cavity. Two dots on the underside of the washers help determine their orientation. To verify that the washers are seated correctly, it may be necessary to use a torch.
