The Fischer company is a globally recognized traditional manufacturer of quality sports equipment. As the only major ski company, it is still owned by the family of the founder, Josef Fischer. Since the mid-sixties, when Fischer opened a new ski manufacturing plant in Ried, Austria, then the largest in the world, it has been one of the most significant global producers. The production and development of Fischer cross-country skis, which today hold a completely dominant position in the global market, dates back to the early seventies.
