Ranger Water Jacket is made from a 2.5-layer membrane fabric with a water column of around 10,000 mm and vapor permeability (breathability) of approximately 5,000 g/m²/24 h, making it a very useful piece of gear for riding in inclement weather without overheating inside.
It has fully taped seams, so water doesn't penetrate through the seams, and the DWR finish (Durable Water Repellent) ensures that drops and mud easily run off the fabric without soaking the jacket immediately.
The hood is designed to fit over a helmet, providing head protection in the rain, even when you're wearing a cycling helmet.
The bottom hem of the jacket can be tightened with a drawstring, and the sleeve cuffs are elastic, so the jacket fits better on the body and doesn't let wind or water in.
The jacket has two zippered hand pockets for storing small items you need to keep with you while riding.
Durable Water Repellent (DWR) is a durable coating added to fabrics at the factory to make them water repellent (hydrophobic). While the coating is effective, it also wears off and as such is recommended to be renewed/maintained with impregnating agents.
