Galfer brake pads specifically designed for Sram Maven series brakes are marked with the code FD575. There are four compounds available.
Galfer indicates the type of compound by color - choose the compound based on the color:
PERFORMANCE G1053 (formerly "Standard" - black): these are suitable for general conditions. They have a harder compound and thus the longest lifespan. Their braking power is reliable in all conditions.
ADVANCED G1851 (For wet conditions - red): they excel in extreme conditions, have a "softer" compound, and wear out more quickly.
PRO G1554T (For racing - green): they do not require "bedding-in." They are immediately effective, have excellent modulation clarity, withstand higher thermal stress, and perform excellently even in wet conditions.
E-BIKES G1652 (E-bikes and DH - purple): they are developed for higher thermal stress, which is especially appreciated by DH racers and e-bike riders, but not only them.
In general, the softer the compound (sharper braking and better in wet conditions), the faster they wear out, and vice versa.
We recommend taking the names of the compounds and their colors as a guide. Purple is ideal and appropriate for e-bikes, but that doesn't mean you can't purchase this compound for a road bike. In endless Alpine descents, you'll surely appreciate it. Ideally, you should choose based on how you brake, the conditions you ride in, rather than mechanically choosing by color/name.
