Description

Garmin Edge 830 PRO is the latest generation of the Edge 8XX series cycling computers.

Key features of this series include control via a color touchscreen (2.6", 6.6 cm), which is 13% larger compared to the previous model Edge 820, excellent readable color display, compact size, reliable functionality in all weather conditions.

Garmin Edge 830 offers the display of detailed maps, the ability to upload additional maps to the cycle computer's memory, and route calculation to the destination based on the map in memory.

The new processor contributes to the overall faster response of the Edge 830 cycle computer, both while navigating the menu and calculating the route to the destination. The CLIMBPRO feature is now available, providing detailed information and evaluation of climbing rides on a planned route. The MTB DYNAMICS feature offers advanced stats for mountain biking.

The safety features have also been improved, with traditional safety features including the option to connect a cycling radar and monitor vehicles approaching from behind or automatic collision detection with message sending to pre-set emergency contacts. The new FIND MY EDGE feature helps locate a lost cycle computer in case of an accident or loss, and the BIKE ALARM feature alerts to any unwanted movement of the bike if, for example, you stop for a refreshment break.

The Edge 830 PRO cycle computer includes a highly sensitive GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO receiver for accurate and reliable determination of location, speed, or distance, even in areas with a limited sky view. The built-in barometric altimeter with automatic calibration via GPS ensures precise altitude measurement. The cycle computer is complemented by Bluetooth and the ability to connect with a smartphone (iOS, Android, Windows Phone), from which it can receive SMS messages, calls, and other notifications, as well as weather forecasts or use it for data connections with a training server. The smartphone remains just an accessory for the cycle computer, and the Edge 830 works fully even without the presence of a phone.

The Edge 830 PRO can utilize external wireless ANT+ and Bluetooth sensors.

It is possible to connect a heart rate sensor, speed/cadence sensor, as well as a power meter (e.g., Garmin Vector), a cycling radar (Varia Radar), or a cycling "head-up" display Varia Vision (all optional accessories), or smart cycling lights. When connected to a power meter, the cycle computer can measure performance parameters of the cyclist, such as VO2Max, FTP (Functional Threshold Power), and in the case of using the Garmin Vector Double power meter, also left/right leg balance or separate evaluation of seated and standing rides.

The Edge 830 PRO cycle computer is compatible with STRAVA segments, which it can upload to its memory, alert you to on the track, show comparison with leading times while riding, and record the achieved result to the STRAVA leaderboard after the ride.
