ALUXX aluminum frame and carbon fork
Contend AR is built on a modern and lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame with internal cable routing and an integrated seat clamp. ALUXX frames, made from high-quality aluminum alloy in our own factory, deliver high stiffness and strength at a low weight. For better vibration damping and thus reduced hand fatigue, the bike is equipped with a carbon fork (the steerer tube is also carbon).
High comfort
The frame is designed to provide high comfort, even on roads with poorer surfaces. The carbon D-Fuse seatpost, with its specific "D" shape that allows slight "flexing," helps dampen vibrations, contributing to higher comfort. The Contend AR model is also equipped with D-Fuse handlebars that flex slightly downward while providing high stiffness upward.
Excellent handling
Disc brakes provide strong braking performance and smooth modulation, which improves bike handling even in changing weather. The brakes are mounted using modern flat mounts and 12mm thru-axles ensure the necessary stiffness. Wider tires in the size of 32c (with a width of 34 mm on the rim) are tubeless, which offers better riding properties and helps reduce the risk of punctures.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
