This is exactly what the FastRoad AR Advanced is with its carbon frame and flat handlebars, which create a comfortable riding position and provide more confidence than traditional curved road handlebars. It is, therefore, an ideal bike for fitness rides to improve physical fitness, but also for city riding.
Advanced Composite Carbon Frame
The FastRoad AR Advanced is built with an Advanced Composite carbon frame. We manufacture these frames ourselves in our own factories from raw materials of the highest quality, using advanced manufacturing methods and processes. This gives them high rigidity at a low weight and provides excellent riding characteristics. A stiffer bottom bracket area improves pedaling power transfer, so you can accelerate and climb hills faster and with less effort.
High Comfort
The Giant ErgoContact saddle and the D-Fuse carbon seatpost, with its specific “D” shape that slightly “flexes”, help achieve the highest level of comfort by helping to absorb vibrations coming from the surface. Wider tires in size 700x40c with a fine tread also contribute to higher comfort and confidence (especially on rougher surfaces). The tires are additionally tubeless – the modern "tubeless" technology delivers better riding characteristics and reduces the risk of punctures.
Excellent Handling
The frame geometry is adapted to flat handlebars and allows a more upright body position for confident bike handling. Hydraulic disc brakes provide strong braking power and smooth modulation, which improves bike handling, even in variable weather conditions. The brake calipers are mounted using modern flat mounts, and 12mm thru-axles ensure necessary stiffness. The OverDrive steerer tube increases steering stiffness and, thus, improves bike handling.
High-performance raw carbon material with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio is used to produce the custom Advanced Composite material. The front triangle of the frame is assembled and molded as one continuous piece (monocoque) using a proprietary manufacturing process called Modified Monocoque Construction.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
