Giant Tempt 29 3 mountain bike Golden Wheat is a hardtail mountain bike for mountain biking on forest roads, trails, and in trail centers. It falls into the affordable performance category, where functional equipment and balanced geometry are what matter. The 29" wheel setup is aimed at riders who prioritize terrain rollover and stability at higher speeds.
The frame is made from ALUXX-grade aluminum alloy and is ready for disc brakes. The trail geometry is designed for 29" wheels in size M and is built around stability in a straight line. A tapered head tube for a tapered fork steerer increases steering precision in rough terrain. It also features internal cable routing and an integrated chainstay protector.
Drivetrain: Shimano Altus shifting comes in a 2x8 configuration, complemented by a Shimano Acera RD M3020-8 rear derailleur. The Shimano Altus FD-M315-TS front derailleur works with Shimano Acera 22/36 cranks and a Shimano Altus 11–34 cassette. The bottom bracket is cartridge.
Brakes: Tektro HDC TKD 149 hydraulic disc brakes use a 180 mm rotor up front and a 160 mm rotor at the rear. The Tektro TKD 149 brake levers have ergonomics suited to smaller hands.
Wheels and tires: Giant GX03V 29" rims are aluminum, double-walled, and have a 21 mm internal width. Maxxis Ikon 29x2,2" tires have a 60 tpi casing and a wire bead.
Cockpit: Giant Connect Trail handlebars have a 31,8 mm diameter and a 750 mm width. The Giant Sport stem is 50 mm long with a 7-degree rise.
29" wheels improve rollover on bumps and help hold a line over roots and rocks. The ALUXX aluminum frame combined with a rear thru-axle makes rear-wheel tracking more precise in corners and under braking. The SR Suntour XCE fork with 100 mm travel in size M filters smaller impacts and supports control on rough descents. Maxxis Ikon 2,2" tires have low rolling resistance, which helps on gravel as well as on transfers over paved surfaces.
Tempt 29 3 is intended for riders who want a hardtail MTB with modern standards and straightforward service. The 2x8 setup provides a wide gear range for climbs as well as faster transfers. Compared to hardtails with quick releases, it offers more precise tracking thanks to the rear thru-axle and tapered head tube.
The Taiwanese company founded in 1972 focusing on bicycles began manufacturing them first in its home country of Taiwan and then in Europe, North America and other countries. Innovations are inherent to Giant - in 1987, it introduced the CADEX, the first mass-produced carbon road bike. Today, Giant is one of the largest bicycle manufacturers worldwide, their bikes can be found in professional cycling, but they don't forget about amateur riders. Electric bikes use a Yamaha engine, but Giant modifies it themselves using their own technologies. Giant also has its own section of bikes for women - the Liv.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
