Giro Aries Spherical – the pinnacle of lightness, speed, and protection.
The Aries Spherical represents the most advanced helmet ever created. It is lighter, more aerodynamic, and perfectly ventilated. The minimalist profile closely follows the shape of the head, making it appear compact and natural. Low weight combined with 24 Wind Tunnel ventilation openings ensures maximum airflow and exceptional comfort even during long and challenging rides.
The true strength of this helmet lies within. Spherical Technology Powered by MIPS operates on a ball-and-socket principle – two interlocking spheres are connected by elastomers that allow movement relative to each other. Upon impact, rotational and direct forces are absorbed and dispersed. The elastomers also serve as a damping element, absorbing energy and enhancing the overall level of protection.
The construction employs Progressive Layering technology – the outer shell is made from a harder material for maximum durability, while the inner part of softer foam better absorbs impact energy. The stability of the entire helmet is further enhanced by the Aura reinforcement, which increases strength without adding weight.
Perfect fit on the head is ensured by the patented Roc Loc 5+ Air retention system with precise adjustment capabilities. Wearing comfort is completed by pleasant pads with Ionic+ antimicrobial treatment, helping to maintain freshness even during intense performance.
The Aries Spherical is an ideal choice for cyclists who demand top-notch protection, extreme lightness, and maximum performance without compromise.
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
Spherical technology uses two separate inserts to help manage impact forces. The material and density of the inner and outer liner can be optimized with progressive layering to help handle a wide range of impact forces. When you combine the benefits of progressive layering with the market-leading MIPS® Brain Protection System, which helps redirect rotational motion away from the brain, you get more comprehensive protection.
