The Giro Register II cycling helmet brings the design, style, and ventilation of Giro’s top road helmets into an affordable, lightweight helmet with In-mold construction.
It’s designed for all recreational mountain bike riders and cycling tourism enthusiasts. With a removable visor and an adjustable fit system tightened via a dial, you can always fine-tune the helmet to be perfectly comfortable.
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
