The Japanese manufacturer of motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and engines has been making electric bike motors, batteries and chargers for several years. Since 1955 when the brand was founded, it has become a global ambassador of quality and reliability. In 2022, Yamaha introduced innovations that secured its place among the top motor companies. Yamaha knows how to work best with battery capacity and therefore offers the longest range. Display Yamaha A - Sideswitch

The Sideswitch display is most commonly found on Yamaha powered electric bikes. It is very simple and clear and easy to read even in low light conditions. It's basically a display and a controller in one. There are 2 buttons on the left side for selecting the motor assist level, which are shown as rectangles on the display on the left side (assist levels vary depending on the drive used, see here - OFF, ECO, ECO+, STD, HIGH and EXPW). On the right side of the display, the battery is shown composed of segments to better estimate the remaining battery capacity. The upper number on the display shows the current speed and the lower part is selectable - it shows the current trip, total kilometers and the current mileage.

Motor - Yamaha PW-X3

ThePW-X3 retains the original "Pure Ride" concept of strong, crisp pedaling response and adds improved power support in the higher cadence range. EXPW stands for EXtra PoWer - you'll appreciate this extra power especially in hilly passages and difficult terrain. On this mode you always achieve the maximum possible engine power immediately, which is very useful when starting uphill, for example. Compared to the previous PW-X2 engine, this one is approximately 20% smaller and 10% lighter. The maximum torque has also been increased to 85 Nm.

Our view:
As of 2022, this is Yamaha's most powerful engine. Our criticisms of the previous models were the engine's noisiness, larger size and slightly less maximum torque. Yamaha has managed to improve on all of this, making the PW-X3 one of the best engines you'll find on the market. Yamaha motors have a great feature, they take up from 1° when cranking, this along with the huge power and 5 assists + one automatic makes the PW-X3, along with the Bosch Perf. Line CX, one of the most powerful engines ever.
