That’s exactly what the Thrive offers, with an aluminum frame, a carbon fork, and flat handlebars that create a comfortable riding position and provide more confidence than classic drop road bars. In other words, it’s a bike that is ideal for fitness rides to improve your physical condition, but also for riding around the city.
ALUXX aluminum frame and carbon fork
The Thrive is built on a modern, lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame with internal cable routing and an integrated seat clamp.
We manufacture ALUXX frames ourselves in our own factory, using a high-quality aluminum alloy and advanced production methods and processes. As a result, they deliver high stiffness at a low weight and provide excellent riding characteristics.
For better vibration damping and therefore reduced hand fatigue, the bike is equipped with a carbon fork.
Excellent handling
The frame geometry is tailored to flat handlebars and allows a more upright body position for confident bike control.
Hydraulic disc brakes deliver strong braking power and smooth modulation, improving control of the bike even in changeable weather. The brake calipers are mounted using modern flat mounts, and 12mm thru-axles ensure the necessary stiffness. The OverDrive fork steerer increases steering stiffness and further improves handling.
High comfort
To achieve the highest possible comfort, the Giant ErgoContact saddle helps as well as the D-Fuse carbon seatpost, which, thanks to its specific “D” shape, flexes slightly and helps absorb vibrations coming from the surface.
Wider 700x40c tires with a fine tread pattern also contribute to greater comfort and confidence (especially on rougher surfaces). The tires are also tubeless – modern “tubeless” technology delivers better ride characteristics and reduces the risk of a puncture.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
