The new enduro/downhill tire from Maxxis named Assegai was developed with significant contributions from downhill legend Greg Minnaar.
The tread design is based on a combination of proven patterns Minion DHR II and DHF in the central section, with the DHF providing good rolling and confidence on hard surfaces, in corners, on wet roots and rocks, and the DHR II adds speed and aggression during braking.
The side lug design was inspired by another popular tire, the High Roller. On top of all that, you have Wide Trail construction for wide rims, tubeless compatibility, EXO Protection sidewall protection, the excellent 3C Maxx Terra compound, and you have an outstanding enduro tire.
