With the Maxxis Assegai 29x2.50 tire, you’ll have confidence when the track hardens up, gets rough, and the pace picks up. It holds a line predictably through corners without unpleasant surprises, even when you brake late.
The tread pattern covers the full width of the tire, so the transition into a lean is smooth and free of “dead spots.” In corners and on roots, you’ll feel support that’s easy to modulate.
Tall knobs bite into the surface, and the shaping stays stable even under hard braking. As a result, you can hold your line on steep sections and in rough descents.
The bikepark and downhill construction adds resistance to punctures and pinch flats. It’s ideal for long days in the park, where the tire takes a beating on hard, aggressive terrain.
The tubeless-ready design helps improve traction and comfort, because you can run a pressure that makes sense for the terrain. At the same time, it reduces the risk of flats in rocks and on rough trails.
The tire size is 29x2.50 inches and corresponds to ETRTO 63-622.
The tire bead is wire for a secure fit on the rim.
The casing has a density of 2x60 TPI in the DH Casing construction.
The tire weighs 1355 g in black.
Maxxis Assegai is a downhill and bikepark tire for riders who want predictable support across the entire profile. You can run it on the front and rear, or mount it up front with a faster-rolling rear tire. Thanks to the Wide Trail design, it fits modern rims well and holds its shape when leaned over.
