The tyre is primarily intended for performance and endurance bikes, and secondarily for time trial bikes, for the seasons of spring, summer and autumn, and marginally winter.

SmartEVO rubber compound

The new SmartEVO rubber compound uses a blend of three different polymers, each delivering specific performance qualities to achieve the optimal balance of opposing characteristics such as grip and rolling resistance. Pirelli has leveraged its knowledge and experience from more than 100 years of developing rubber compounds for motorsport, where these products have always been used at the highest level of competition across all disciplines. This extensive expertise from the R&D and racing departments has enabled Pirelli to create a triple polymer blend with “smart” performance characteristics for bicycle tyres, forming the foundation for the outstanding attributes of the SmartEVO compound—better grip in both dry and wet conditions, while also delivering lower rolling resistance. Pirelli has created a performance rubber compound designed and tuned for all modern road cycling disciplines, from local or World Tour races to epic adventures where climate and varied surfaces demand tyres that perform reliably at the highest level in all conditions.
