Pirelli brought this new HyperWALL construction to cycling thanks to experience in Motocross. The bead and sidewall rubber insert are firmly secured by a woven material link, so they behave as a single unit. Benefits of this technology in numbers (based on Pirelli's internal laboratory and practical tests): enhanced bead stability (+10%), better puncture protection (+50%), increased manageability at low air pressures (+25%), greater resistance to sidewall cuts.
SmartGRIP
Experience and victories in rally and motocross led Pirelli's developers to invent the innovative rubber compound SmartGRIP. This special compound combines two opposing characteristics:
a) Cut resistance: guarantees maximum mechanical grip and traction in dry conditions and higher puncture resistance along with longer lifespan.
b) Chemical grip in the wet: no need to worry about changing conditions, whether it rains or there are muddy and slippery sections on the trail.
The result is longer-lasting riding qualities of the tire, with excellent grip. The tire maintains these riding qualities even as the tread wears. Single-compound composition SmartGRIP allows for consistent riding qualities as the tire wears down.
