When the trail tips into a steep descent and the slippery surface forces you to be precise, that’s exactly when you’ll appreciate a tire that holds its line clearly and without unnecessary surprises. Schwalbe Magic Mary Gravity Pro TLR E-50 Ultra Soft 29x2,40 is built for moments when you want to ride flat out while still keeping confidence in your hands. In the bike park, on enduro RZ stages, and on your local trail, it gives you the calm assurance that lets you focus on the ride.
Schwalbe Magic Mary is among the proven choices for enduro and downhill because it combines strong bite in softer ground with confidence on harder surfaces. The open tread pattern can “dig in” to dirt, yet it won’t be easily unsettled on packed soil or rocks, so you stay in control in changing conditions. The side knobs are designed to support you through corners and make the transition into lean feel predictable. The ULTRA SOFT compound targets maximum grip when downhill confidence and braking traction matter most.
The tire is intended for wheels with a 29-inch rim diameter, and in the 29x2,40-inch size it corresponds to the ETRTO 62-622 designation, which also indicates its true width and compatibility. It’s a tubeless-ready design with TLR technology, so with proper seating and sealant you can run it without a tube and reduce the risk of small punctures. The TPI 2x67 construction balances durability and stability for gravity use, with a weight of approximately 1340 g per tire. The maximum recommended pressure is set at 3,5 Bar (50 PSI) and the load capacity per tire reaches 125 kg; the Kevlar folding bead makes handling easier during transport and installation.
Schwalbe Magic Mary Gravity Pro makes sense if your priorities are stability on descents, predictable behavior when leaned over, and reliable traction under braking. Thanks to the E-50 rating, it’s also suitable for e-MTBs, where higher loads and intensive use are expected. If you’re looking for a black 29" tire for demanding terrain that won’t be intimidated by the bike park or a rough, blown-out trail, this is a very safe choice.
