The Shimano DEORE Di2 RD-M6260 rear derailleur is a modern solution for E-MTB category e-bikes. It delivers fast, precise, and intuitive shifting thanks to Di2 and HYPERGLIDE+ technology. The design is built with an emphasis on high durability in demanding terrain and long service life.

The RD-M6260 model features a long SGS cage and is intended for 12-speed drivetrains with a 10–51-tooth cassette. An ideal pairing is, for example, the Shimano CS-M6100 10–51 cassette. The derailleur uses the same modern Di2 wireless shifting technologies as higher-end Shimano groups, but it draws power directly from the e-bike’s main battery. This provides stable power and reliable operation even on long rides.

Durable construction for demanding trails

The derailleur uses a low-profile, wedge-shaped design that helps minimize the risk of contact with rocks and other obstacles on the trail. The smooth outer surface also allows it to slide more easily in the event of contact, reducing the risk of serious damage.

The robust construction includes a wide-link structure, a durable body design, a skid-plate construction, and solid guide pulleys. A slim stabilizer contributes to stable chain control even in challenging terrain.

In the event of an impact, the Automatic Impact Recovery function helps by automatically returning the derailleur motor to its original position. This helps protect the system and enables a quick return to normal operation.

Smart shifting for E-MTB

Shimano DEORE Di2 RD-M6260 supports technologies designed specifically for e-bikes:

AUTO SHIFT – an intelligent system automatically selects the appropriate gear based on the riding situation. In combination with HYPERGLIDE+ technology, it enables smooth and fast gear changes while pedaling.

FREESHIFT – the system can also shift automatically while coasting, for example when riding downhill or rolling to a stop, so you can be in the optimal gear.

SHIMANO SHADOW ES – a modern version of chain stabilization technology with a slim and robust design for better derailleur protection and stable performance in terrain.

The derailleur also includes an LED status indicator that provides an overview of the system’s current operation.
