All-season men's cycling shoes with a waterproof Gore-Tex lining for bad weather.
The shoes feature a high-traction Ultread Ex sole and an optimized tread pattern for demanding adventures both on and off the bike.
The triple-panel closure straps come with a BOA® L6E tightening dial. 22% of the shoes are made from recycled materials. The EX midsole with layered EVA foam absorbs heel impacts, offering more comfortable walking.
The SPD placement in the middle of the shoe enhances comfort during regular pedaling. The robust toe provides additional toe protection. The stiffness index is 5. The cleats are SPD. Recommended pedals for these shoes are PD-M8120 and PD-EH500.
We recommend buying Shimano shoes half a size to a full size larger than your usual size.
BOA is a technology developed by Boa Technology Inc. This patented technology is based on three integral parts: a micro-adjustable dial in the form of a rotating wheel, a thin extra-strong lace and low-friction lace guides. This system is an effective way to tighten shoes and other equipment across many sports (golf, winter sports, cycling, athletics, hiking, and others). BOA Technology Inc. is headquartered in Denver, CO with offices in Austria, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan.
EVA, literally Ethylene-vinyl acetate is also known as Polyethylene-vinyl acetate i.e. PEVA. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, as the name suggests. The weight of the vinyl acetate component is in the range of 10 to 40% and the remainder is ethylene itself. Its physical properties is as an elastomeric polymer, i.e. a substance that excels in high elasticity. Thanks to its unique composition, it ranks among the most light yet flexible and soft materials. It is therefore not a classic thermoplastic, which is often commonly used for the production of many products around us.
Gore-Tex is a registered brand with a history dating back to 1958, often associated with waterproof fabrics. The Gore-Tex material consists of a narrow porous membrane made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon), which is laminated between other textiles, most often nylon or polyester. You can most often come across the term "Gore-Tex membrane".
