Thanks to its compact rounded design and high luminous output, the Silva Seek 420 headlamp is a practical tool for most outdoor activities – from hiking and running to camping.
The Silva Intelligent Light technology combines two white LEDs with lenses that simultaneously create both a broad and a long-range light beam. The result is more natural lighting and better spatial perception.
The main light output reaches up to 420 lumens, with the headlamp offering three levels of white light in total and a red LED for soft, non-distracting illumination, ideal for use in a tent or in company.
Power supply is flexible – you can use either three AAA alkaline batteries or a rechargeable Silva Hybrid 4.6 Wh Li-ion battery (batteries not included).
The headlamp features a battery status indicator with colored LEDs: a green LED lights up when the capacity is above 50%, or a red one when it's below this threshold.
There is also a button lock that prevents accidental activation, for example, when being transported in a backpack.
The comfortable elastic headband measures 25 mm in width and has a silicone strip on the inside for improved stability during movement. The circumference can be easily adjusted to fit different head sizes thanks to two quick-adjust buckles.
The headlamp is made from recycled plastics, and its construction meets the IPX5 standard, ensuring resistance to water jets from all directions.
Weight without batteries (including headband): approx. 69 g, weight with rechargeable Silva Hybrid battery: approx. 94 g, weight with 3×AAA: approx. 99 g.
The technical specifications of Silva headlamps (for Seek 420 in the gallery) are measured according to the ANSI FL1 standard. Battery runtime is not the time until complete discharge. It refers to the period until the light output drops to 10% of the initial value measured 30 seconds after switching the light on, after which the headlamp enters a reserve mode. Battery runtime is influenced by ambient temperature and the type of activity, for example, during running or cycling, the reflector cools better; negative temperatures, on the other hand, reduce the battery capacity. The beam distance is given as the distance at which the light intensity drops to 0.25 lux. This is approximately the intensity of lighting created by the full moon on a clear night.
