9point8 Canadian seatpost with a unique design featuring internal cable routing.
The seatpost operates with an extremely low air pressure of 25-45 psi, which means it puts virtually no strain on the seals (pressure is up to 10-15 times lower than competitors). It contains no oil, eliminating the risk of leaks or sluggishness in winter. The seatpost features its own unique mechanical brake, DropLoc (for instance, if you lift the bike by the retracted saddle, it won't extend under your hand). It has an original anti-rotation system and exhibits minimal operational play compared to competitors. The sliding parts are coated with an extremely durable black titanium layer.
Option to choose a head for attaching carbon saddle rails (oval) or round - classic rails and user-friendly micro-adjustment of the saddle's tilt and fore-aft position.
The head is flat with an inline version. The seatpost allows for bidirectional cable routing - meaning it doesn't matter if there's a cable stop or a free cable end at the seatpost.
The lever is not included - the seatpost is compatible with any mechanical lever on the market. However, 9point8 separately offers two types of levers for controlling their seatposts:
- 9.8 ThumB allows for the cable to be secured only from the cable stop. You can mount it on both sides of the handlebar, either vertically or horizontally, and if horizontally, above or below the handlebar.
- 9.8 Digit, which can only be mounted on the left side of the handlebar from underneath. The cable can only terminate in the Digit lever (not the side with the cable stop). Compatible with handlebar clamps or even Shimano, Sram, and other standards.
