9point8 Canadian dropper post with a unique design that features internal cable routing.
The dropper post operates at an extremely low air pressure of 25-45psi, which means it puts virtually no strain on any seals (pressure up to 10-15x lower than the competition). It contains no oil fill, so there’s no risk of oil leaks or sluggish performance in winter. The dropper post has its own unique mechanical DropLoc brake (for example, if you lift the bike by the lowered saddle, it won’t extend in your hand). It features an original anti-rotation system and, compared to the competition, has absolutely minimal operating play. The sliding parts are coated with an extremely durable black titanium layer.
Option to choose a head for clamping carbon saddle rails (oval) or for round - standard rails, plus user-friendly micro-adjustment of the saddle tilt and fore-aft position.
The head is straight on the inline version. The dropper post allows bi-directional cable routing - meaning it doesn’t matter whether the cable has a barrel end at the post or a free cable end.
The lever is not included - the dropper post is compatible with any mechanical lever on the market. However, 9point8 offers two types of levers separately for controlling their droppers:
- 9.8 ThumB allows the cable to be attached only from the barrel end. You can mount it on either side of the handlebar, vertically or horizontally, and if horizontally, both above and below the handlebar.
- 9.8 Digit, which can be mounted only on the left side of the handlebar from underneath. With the Digit lever, the cable can only terminate in the lever (not the barrel-end side). Handlebar mounting via a clamp or also Shimano, Sram, and other standards.
