Academy Grade 2 Edition Funtasy is a lightweight 14" children's bike with high-quality components. Suitable from 95 cm, for children aged 2 to 4 years.
The weight of the bike greatly influences how much children enjoy riding it. A quality children's bike must be lightweight and easily adjustable. Therefore, the bike weighs only 5.3 kg and is equipped with high-quality components. The lowered top tube makes it easier for children to mount and dismount.
Handlebar Stem
The patented Syntace Vario stem grows with children in both height and length. It is seamlessly adjustable and 100% stable in every position.
Q-factor
The Q-factor describes the overall width of the cranks and plays an important role in pedaling efficiency. Ideally, the bike's Q-factor should match the rider's natural stride width. A smaller Q-factor is more ergonomic, whereas an excessively large Q-factor forces the legs into an "X" shape while pedaling. This prevents ergonomically correct, smooth pedaling, which can lead to knee pain and quick fatigue. Academy bikes have one of the smallest Q-factors on the market and are therefore ideally designed for children.
Saddle
The flat saddle provides maximum support and prevents slipping off. The optimal saddle cover (neither too soft nor too hard) prevents sinking and provides a comfortable and secure seating position, enhancing both comfort and joy in riding!
Tires
Since Academy children's bikes focus on the power-to-weight ratio for kids, the bike features lightweight and narrow VEE Tire Co. Rail Jr. tires. Their tread makes them ideal for both urban riding and gravel paths. Additionally, they look good and provide the necessary visibility in traffic thanks to the reflective stripes.

The developers of Academy bikes, in collaboration with the German Institute for Orthopedics, Osteopathy, and Sports Medicine (DIOOS) led by Dr. Andreas Elsner, have succeeded in developing ultralight children's bikes that meet the latest ergonomic requirements. All models are lighter than 40% of the average child's weight, and frames with low and narrow bottom brackets allow children to pedal smoothly. Short cranks and an upright sitting position always allow reaching the ground with feet while ensuring an ergonomic knee position during riding.
