The Alpina Ravel Reflective helmet is very lightweight and comfortable. It features strategically arranged ventilation openings that guarantee 100% ventilation.

In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
HI-EPS stands for High Expanded Polystyrene. The internal of the in-mold Alpina helmets are made of HI-EPS. These are very small beads of a special polystyrene in which a robust process gives rise to the internal shell of the helmet. This material does not absorb sweat or water. If damaged (e.g. after a fall), the helmet must no longer be used, as it is beyond repair!
