The BASSO Tera bike, silver, Shimano GRX 600, Microtech MX25 is a gravel bike built for fast gravel routes, rough backroads, and bikepacking. It sits in the mid to upper performance category, where the mix of frame design, a reliable drivetrain, and tubeless compatibility makes the difference. It’s based on a hybrid construction and a group set up for riding off the asphalt.
The Basso Tera frame combines a front triangle made from triple-butted aluminum alloy with a carbon rear end. The rear end uses a fixed pivot and works through the flex of the carbon, offering 8 mm of travel. The frame features internal cable routing and a tapered head tube with an integrated Acros headset. Thru-axles are used, 173 × 12 mm at the rear and 125 × 12 mm at the front.
Drivetrain: Shifting is handled by Shimano GRX 600 in a 2x11 setup, with a Shimano GRX front derailleur and a Shimano GRX 600 rear derailleur. Shimano GRX 600 cranks use 46/30 chainrings, and the Shimano GRX cassette has an 11–34 range.
Brakes: Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes use Shimano GRX brake levers. The rotors are 160 mm front and rear.
Wheels and tires: Microtech MX25 wheelsets are aluminum and support tubeless use, with a 25 mm internal rim width. Maxxis Rambler tires measure 700 × 45 mm, and the wheels use 24-hole Microtech hubs.
Cockpit: Microtech XL Gravel alloy handlebars are paired with a Microtech Tera/Vega stem and Basso Logo Handlebar Tape 2 mm. A Selle Italia X3 Boost Flow saddle sits on a Microtech XL alloy seatpost with a 27.2 mm diameter.
The hybrid aluminum-and-carbon frame targets high durability up front and vibration damping at the rear wheel. The flexible carbon rear end with 8 mm of travel helps maintain traction over roots and rocky gravel. Wide 700 × 45 mm tires on rims with a 25 mm internal width improve cornering support and stability at lower pressures. The 2x11 drivetrain with 46/30 chainrings supports a smooth pace on asphalt as well as on long climbs.
The BASSO Tera is aimed at experienced riders looking for a gravel bike for longer rides, gravel marathons, and multi-day bikepacking. You’ll appreciate it when riding with heavier loads, where the combination of a thru-axle, tubeless wheels, and stable tires helps out. Compared to all-aluminum gravel bikes, it adds rear-end comfort without the maintenance of a shock.
