Cervélo Aspero gravel frame set Aurora

Description

Cervélo Aspero is a gravel frameset for building a fast bike for both gravel and asphalt. It’s aimed at experienced riders who fine-tune the build to their preferences and the required tire width. It’s a performance platform where the choice of drivetrain, wheels, and cockpit makes the difference.

Frame and geometry

The frame is made from a carbon composite with a monocoque construction and is designed for gravel use. The Cervélo All-Carbon, Tapered Aspero Fork uses a tapered steerer for greater steering precision. The FSA IS2 headset combines a 1-1/4 upper and a 1-1/2 lower. The seat area is designed for a 27.2 mm seatpost.

Components

Drivetrain: The frameset is ready for gravel drivetrains with both 1x and 2x chainring setups. Cassette and bottom bracket choice depends on the selected crankset.

Brakes: The frame and fork are designed for disc brakes. The specific rotor diameter is chosen based on the brake system used.

Wheels and tires: Wheel and tire selection depends on the intended use, from a fast gravel setup to a more durable off-road choice. The frameset is designed around modern gravel standards.

Cockpit: The set includes the Cervélo SP19 Carbon 27.2 seatpost. You choose the handlebar and stem based on the desired position and grip width.

Ride characteristics

The carbon frame with a tapered fork delivers precise, predictable handling, which you’ll appreciate at higher speeds on gravel. The 27.2 mm seatpost helps subtly filter out small vibrations. With the right choice of wheels and tires, the bike can be tuned for fast road riding as well as stability on rough surfaces. This gravel frameset also makes sense for building a versatile bike for long rides.

Who it’s for

The frameset is intended for riders who want to build a gravel bike with a precisely chosen balance of weight, stiffness, and comfort. It’s suitable for sporty rides, race use in the gravel discipline, and fast transfers over mixed surfaces. Component choice lets you focus on efficiency on the flats or confidence on technical descents.
