The Grand Prix 5000 AS TR marks the beginning of a new era in tubeless training tires.
It is specifically designed to perform in demanding conditions and provide the rider with greater confidence even over long distances.
With an initial weight of just 250 g for a 25 mm width, the model is extremely lightweight yet exceptionally durable. It is available in sizes ranging from 25-622 to 35-622, making it suitable for a wide range of uses, including racing, training, or just commuting to work. The tire is available in two color options with black and beige sidewalls. A specialty of the black version is the black reflective stripe, which significantly increases the visibility of the bike when illuminated, while maintaining the design.
Continental Grand Prix 5000 AS TR incorporates several advanced technologies that deliver the best possible riding experience. These include the Black Chili Compound, which enhances grip, and Vectran Breaker for increased puncture resistance. ACT optimizes performance and LazerGrip improves cornering ability.
Top level compound with a perfectly balanced ratio of grip, rolling resistance and durability. It is composed of refined synthetic rubber and natural rubber, to which additives forming a special surface are added. This mixture is produced exclusively at the Korbach plant in Germany.
Vectran is a synthetically produced high-tech fiber based on liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from molten liquid Vectra polymer and further processed into multi-strand yarn. Spider silk, like Vectran, has enormous tear resistance at a very low weight: exactly the right properties to be processed into a premium Continental bicycle tire as a puncture protection liner. Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects against cuts more effectively than comparable nylon fiber and does not adversely affect rolling resistance.
