Fox Float DPS Factory LV Evol shock 2021

Description

The high-performance Fox Float DPS shocks have been thoroughly redesigned for even better performance. DPS stands for Dual Piston System, the shock consists of two pistons and is expected to offer firm locking, make no compromises in damping behavior, and be more precisely adjustable than its predecessor. It can therefore be optimally adapted to the widest range of different applications.

In the previous model, the valve construction was already changed, allowing for better rebound and compression flow. Additionally, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces the breakaway torque.

The shock features an enlarged "LV" air chamber, resulting in a more linear spring characteristic.

Dual Piston System (DPS)
This system has three ride settings (open, medium, closed). This means the rider can adapt the shock to the respective terrain at any time. The new dual-piston design offers complete locking, better control, and unmatched efficiency. The way the shock operates in lockout mode is thus significantly different from how it performs in open and medium modes. In open mode, the shock can be fine-tuned in 3 levels to suit the respective riding style.

EVOL
The air chamber named EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume." This setting should also have a positive impact on the suspension quality by reducing the shock's breakaway torque. It leads to better traction and a smoother response. At the same time, the characteristic curve can be slightly raised in the mid-travel range, making it more linear. The rear with the Fox Float shock should perform much more effectively.

Metric installation dimensions
With the introduction of metric installation dimensions, shock manufacturers aim to standardize standards. In the future, there should not be so many different variants. In addition, a similar linear gradation of different length and stroke dimensions is sought, as is already the case with suspension forks. By the way, these shocks offer more internal space because the bore spacing has usually been slightly increased for the same stroke length. This allows for the optimization of function and reliability.
