Description

The high-performance Fox Float DPS shocks have been thoroughly redesigned for even better performance. DPS stands for Dual Piston System, and the shock is composed of two pistons, offering a hard lockout without compromising damping behavior and allowing for more precise adjustment than its predecessor. Thus, it can be optimally adapted to the largest number of different application areas.

In the previous model, the valve design was already changed to allow better rebound and compression flow. Additionally, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces breakaway torque.

The shock has a normal "SV air chamber" with a highly progressive spring characteristic, typical for air shocks.

Dual Piston System (DPS)
This system has three ride settings (open, medium, closed). This means that the rider can adjust the shock at any time to suit the respective terrain. The new dual-piston design offers full lockout, better control, and unbeatable efficiency. The way the shock operates in lock mode is therefore significantly different from its operation in open and medium modes. In open mode, the shock can be fine-tuned in 3 stages to suit the respective riding style.

EVOL
The air chamber called EVOL has an increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume." This setting should also positively affect suspension quality by reducing the shock's breakaway torque. This leads to better traction and a softer response. At the same time, the characteristic curve can be raised slightly in the mid-stroke range, making it more linear. The rear with the Fox Float shock should be much more efficient.

Metric Installation Dimensions
With the introduction of metric installation dimensions, shock manufacturers aim to standardize standards. In the future, there should not be as many different variants. In addition, a similar linear gradation of different length and stroke dimensions is sought, as is already the case with suspension forks. By the way, these shocks offer more space inside because the pitch of the holes has typically been slightly increased for the same stroke length. This allows for function and reliability optimization.
