Fox Float DPS Factory shock 2021 Trunnion M165x40 mm

Description

High-performance Fox Float DPS shocks have been thoroughly redesigned for even better performance. DPS stands for Dual Piston System, featuring two pistons, offering firm lockout, uncompromised damping behavior, and more precise adjustability than its predecessor. It can thus be optimally adapted to a wide range of different application areas.

In the previous model, the valve design was already changed, allowing for better rebound and compression flow. Additionally, the low-friction Kashima coating reduces the breakaway torque.

The shock has a standard "SV air chamber" with a highly progressive spring characteristic, which is typical for air shocks.

Trunnion Mount
This valve is specially designed for the Trunnion standard. In this case, the upper attachment is on the side of the shock rather than at the eye of the shock, as is usually the case. This allowed the overall length to be shortened without causing spatial issues inside.

Dual Piston System (DPS)
This system has three ride settings (open, medium, closed). This means the rider can adjust the shock at any time to suit the terrain. The new dual-piston design offers a complete lockout, better handling, and unmatched efficiency. The way the shock operates in lockout mode is significantly different from open and medium modes. In the open mode, the shock can be fine-tuned in 3 stages to match the respective riding style.

EVOL
The air chamber named EVOL with an increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume". This setup is also intended to positively affect suspension quality by reducing the shock's breakaway torque. This leads to better traction and a smoother response. At the same time, the characteristic curve can be slightly increased in the mid-stroke range, making it more linear. The rear end with the Fox Float shock should be much more efficient.

Metric mounting dimensions
With the introduction of metric mounting dimensions, valve manufacturers aim to standardize standards. In the future, there should not be so many different variants. Additionally, a similar linear gradation of different length and stroke dimensions is sought, as is already the case with suspension forks. By the way, these shocks offer more internal space because the hole spacing is usually slightly increased with the same stroke length. This allows for optimal function and reliability.
