Description

The completely redesigned dual-chamber X2 shock absorber is a milestone in the shock absorber market.

With independently adjustable rebound and compression levels over high and low speeds, this shock absorber can be adapted to a wide range of downhill tracks to offer you performance you've never experienced before.

The air chamber of the previous model had already been optimized to be filled with a maximum air pressure of 300 PSI. This reduces the risk of damage from extreme jumps. The valve design has also been changed to prevent air loss when inflating. New low-friction seals and optimization of the internal structure for greater torsional stiffness also improve the already sensitive response.

The small expansion reservoir allows for easier integration of the shock absorber into various frame designs.

The GRIP2 damping system taken from suspension forks allows for optimal adjustment.

EVOL
The air chamber named EVOL has an increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume." This setup should also have a positive effect on suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the shock. This leads to better traction and smoother response. At the same time, the characteristic curve in the mid-stroke range can be slightly raised, becoming more linear.

Variable Valve Control (VVC)
Fox has put all its knowledge into this shock. Based on the GRIP2 fork shock, compression at high and low speed, and rebound at high and low speed can be adjusted independently. Adjustments should be made carefully, but then offer endless riding fun on any surface.
With the integrated Variable Valve Control (VVC) system, the sensitivity of the high-speed rebound changes using a leaf spring rather than changing the preload. This requires a finely measured function and adjustment.
Additionally, throughout the development process, attention was paid to using low-friction materials. This allows for a very delicate response and significantly increases comfort.

MCU elastomer bumper
This bumper made from Micro Cellular Urethane foam does not absorb oil and increases the progressiveness of the end-stroke.
