Description

The completely redesigned X2 dual-chamber shock absorber is a true milestone in the shock absorber market. Thanks to independently adjustable levels of rebound and compression in the range of high and low speeds, this shock absorber can be tailored to a wide range of downhill tracks to offer you performance that you've never experienced before.

In the previous model, the air chamber was already optimized to be filled with a maximum air pressure of 300 PSI. This reduces the risk of damage during extreme jumps. Additionally, the valve design was changed to prevent air loss during inflation. New low-friction seals and optimization of the internal construction for greater torsional rigidity also improve the already sensitive performance.

The small expansion reservoir allows for easier integration of the shock absorber into various frame designs.

GRIP2 damping system adopted from suspension forks allows for optimal tuning.

EVOL
The air chamber named EVOL features increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume". This setup should also positively affect suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the shock. This leads to better traction and a softer response. Simultaneously, the characteristic curve in the mid-stroke range can be slightly raised, making it more linear.

Variable Valve Control (VVC)
Fox has poured all its knowledge into this damping system. Based on the GRIP2 shock from suspension forks, high and low-speed compression and rebound can be adjusted independently. Adjustments must be made carefully, but then it offers limitless riding fun on any surface.
With the integrated variable valve control (VVC) system, the sensitivity of high-speed rebound is changed using a leaf spring rather than altering the preload. This requires finely measured function and adjustment.
Moreover, throughout the entire development process, attention was paid to using low-friction materials. This allows for a very delicate response and significantly increases comfort.

MCU elastomer bumper
This bumper made from Micro Cellular Urethane foam does not absorb oil and enhances the progressivity at the end of the stroke.
