The frame geometry combines an endurance riding position with a shorter rear end for precise handling, agility, and perfect control of the bike. Longer reach (i.e., the horizontal distance from the center of the bike to the center of the top of the head tube), shorter stem, and lower bottom bracket improve stability in rougher terrain.
The new frame features lower seat stays of smaller diameter for even better shock and vibration absorption. The specially shaped D-Fuse seatpost that flexes slightly under load also contributes to increased comfort.
A significant innovation is the so-called flip chip rear dropouts, which allow changing the wheelbase. A shorter wheelbase offers greater "agility" of the bike, while setting it to a longer wheelbase improves stability at higher speeds and simultaneously increases space for the rear tire (up to 53 mm).
The new frame also allows for seatpost type choice (thanks to a special adapter), so either the "flexing" Giant D-Fuse seatpost or a standard 30.9 mm round seatpost can be used, enabling the frame to accommodate a dropper seatpost.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
Tubeless rims and tires have a design adapted for tubeless use, provided they are supplemented with sealant, tape and valves. Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits - the ability to run the tire with lower air pressure, which improves traction, lower rolling resistance compared to a tube tire, and less chance of a puncture.
