Aluminum frame with modern geometry
The lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame along with the full carbon fork provide the perfect balance of stiffness for maximum pedaling efficiency and compliance for high comfort. The geometry combines an endurance riding position with a shorter rear triangle for precise handling, agility, and perfect control of the bike. A longer reach, shorter stem, and lower center improve stability on rougher terrain.
High comfort
The frame features lower seat stays with a smaller diameter for even better absorption of bumps and vibrations. Higher comfort is also aided by the specially shaped D-Fuse seatpost and Contact XR D-Fuse handlebars – both work together as a system and flex slightly under load, without reducing stiffness when cornering, climbing, or riding out of the saddle.
Adjusting the bike to the terrain
The rear dropouts allow for changing the wheelbase thanks to the flip chip system. A shorter wheelbase brings higher "agility" of the bike, while setting to a longer wheelbase improves stability at higher speeds and also increases space for the rear tire (up to 53 mm). The frame also allows for the choice of seatpost type – either the "flexing" Giant D-Fuse seatpost or a standard round 30.9 mm seatpost, including a telescopic one.
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
The D-Fuse seatpost was designed to absorb road shocks and vibrations so you can ride farther, faster. It works by slightly springing the seat post under load, thanks to its specific "D" shape.
The flip chip system is a two-position eccentric insert in the rear frame feet that allows you to easily change the wheelbase. A shorter wheelbase gives you a more agile nike, while setting it to a longer wheelbase improves stability at higher speeds while increasing the space for the rear tire (up to 53 mm wide).
The oversized fork steerer aims to increase the stiffness of the front of the frameset and steering for precise control. Oversized headset bearings (bottom 1 1/4" and top 1 1/8" on road bikes and bottom 1 1/2" and top 1 1/8" on MTB bikes) and tapered fork steerer are included for optimal steering stiffness .
