Discover the unique combination of safety, comfort, and style with the GIRO Montaro MIPS III cycling helmet. This helmet is perfect for mountain biking, ensuring maximum protection for your head during every adventure on two wheels.
The GIRO Montaro MIPS III is equipped with the state-of-the-art MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) technology, which effectively reduces rotational forces acting on the head during an impact. With this innovation, you can be confident that your safety is always the top priority.
The GIRO Montaro MIPS III helmet is designed with a focus on comfort and ventilation. With 17 optimized ventilation openings, you'll have ample airflow even on hot days. The padded interior is not only comfortable but also wicks away sweat, ensuring maximum comfort during long rides.
The helmet features a two-position visor with one-handed control, a FIDLOCK magnetic buckle, and goggle storage space at both the front and back, allowing for seamless integration with MX goggles.
Thanks to the Roc Loc Trail Air system, you can easily adjust the helmet to fit the shape of your head. The adjustment is quick and precise, allowing you to focus on the path ahead. Moreover, the helmet stands out for its lightweight design, which minimizes fatigue during longer trips.
Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
Fidlock, it is the cradle of innovative magnetic closures and attachments with mechanical lock. The company has been leading the development of these systems since the company was founded in 2007. Magnetic systems can be found, for example, in helmet closures or bicycle bottle cages. Reversing the polarity and unlocking the locks is possible with one hand, by turning or tilting and pushing the locks.
