Kona 36e Fire Mountain Silver mountain bike is a hardtail for mountain biking on forest roads, gravel tracks, and easier trails. It’s built on an aluminum frame, a suspension fork with 100 mm of travel, and a simple 1x9 drivetrain. Frame and geometry

The frame is made from 6061 Aluminum Butted, focusing on a balanced mix of stiffness and durability for typical trail use. Wheels and tires: Alex DP27K rims are laced to Joytech hubs—100x9 mm front and 135x10 mm rear. Tires are WTB Trail Boss or Maxxis Rekon in size 27,5/26x2,25".

Cockpit: The Kona XC saddle is aimed at an XC riding position and regular off-road rides. The Kona Thumb offset seatpost has a 31,6 mm diameter.

Ride characteristics

The hardtail design transfers power directly to the rear wheel, which is noticeable when pedaling out of the saddle and on paved sections. The 100 mm fork helps filter smaller bumps and keeps the front wheel in contact on rough surfaces. Wider 2,25" tires increase mechanical grip and allow you to adjust pressure to suit the terrain. Hydraulic disc brakes help with speed control on wet roots and on gravel.
