The Maxxis Receptor is a tire designed specifically for gravel use. Its advantage is its large volume, providing a comfortable ride off-road, with a tread pattern ideal for fast rides on roads and light terrain, all while maintaining ample control over the bike.
Thanks to its low-profile center tread, the Receptor rolls easily on any surface. Small side knobs offer traction in corners on loose and hard terrain.
EXO is a puncture and abrasion resistant material that is added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis MTB and gravel tires. Choose EXO Protection for superior durability in gravel, XC and light trail riding.
The dual tread compounds use two different compounds. The centre of the tread uses a firmer compound to improve rolling resistance and create stronger braking edges, while the sidewalls and the tread side knobs use a softer compound for better control and cornering grip.
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance.
And where there is no tube, it also reduces the risk of punctures. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared to be mounted with sealant than other "tubeless" tires. The bead of TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a true tubeless UST tire.
