MET Terrae MIPS is a modern cycling helmet that offers the perfect combination of safety, comfort, and design for every cyclist. It is the ideal choice for mountain bikers as well as urban and gravel riders who seek high protection without compromising on style.
One of the key features of the MET Terrae MIPS helmet is the integrated MIPS system (Multi-directional Impact Protection System). This technology ensures better brain protection during angular impacts, significantly reducing the risk of head injury.
The helmet construction is made using In-Mold technology with a polycarbonate shell and EPS liner. The helmet features 19 ventilation openings for optimal airflow and has a Safe T-Heta adjustment system for easy and secure fitting.
The MET Terrae MIPS helmet in Burned Yellow color not only ensures your safety but also brings a fresh and modern element to your style. It is equipped with soft padding that is hypoallergenic and washable, ensuring all-day comfort.
Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
In-Mold technology can be found most often in bicycle and ski helmets. The principle consists in injecting compressed polystyrene into a polycarbonate shell at high temperatures and pressures (approx. 330°C). This connection ensures high strength at very low weight. Polystyrene absorbs energy in the event of an impact, but it deforms, which is why the helmet must be replaced after a major impact. Helmets produced by In-Mold technology and associated have a weight of 350-550 g.
EPS is expanded polystyrene. It is a strong and rigid material with a cellular structure, composed of 2% polystyrene and the rest is air.
