Buckle up and hit the trail with the Smith Pilot helmet, offering the ideal combination of lightweight comfort, durability, and modern protection for mountain biking.
Thanks to the in-mold construction, the helmet is sturdy yet very light, so it won’t hold you back even on longer rides. The integrated Mips® system helps reduce rotational forces during angled impacts, increasing overall safety.
Comfort on the ride is ensured by 13 ventilation ports that provide smooth airflow on climbs and descents alike. Precise sizing is made easy with a practical adjustment dial, allowing you to fine-tune the fit while riding. The inner padding delivers comfort even for all-day wear, and the lightweight straps keep the helmet securely in place without unnecessary bulk.
Smith Pilot is designed for perfect compatibility with Smith cycling glasses, which you can conveniently store in the side channels. A sturdy visor protects you from the sun as well as branches on the trail. This helmet meets strict safety standards and is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and stylish MTB helmet.
Mips is a technology in the form of a special yellow insert inside the helmet, which has the task of reducing rotational forces acting on the head and brain in the event of a crash or fall while riding a bicycle. In principle, Mips works between two layers of the helmet shell, which rotate in relation to each other during a fall. This technology is being used by more and more major and minor helmet manufacturers, so if a helmet has this technology, you can tell by the small yellow logo on the outside of the helmet. Currently there are about 5 kinds of Mips system.
Created with ease of use and superior comfort in mind, the VaporFit™ system relies on a proven dial system integrated with a tuned elastic fit through engineered shapes. Each VaporFit™ system has a full 5cm of swivel adjustment. In addition, the system can be moved up/down or forward/backward at the attachment points. The end result is increased comfort with a tailored and secure fit.
AirEvac is a patented ventilation system that works with the ventilation holes on the Smith glasses, they have a constant flow of air through the entire system. Ventilation in the front of the helmet brings cool, dry air into strategically placed channels in the helmet shell. Vents on the top and back of the shell are used to exhaust hot air that would otherwise be trapped around the wearer's head. This airflow contributes to a more comfortable riding experience and also helps prevent the glasses from fogging up.
