The Scorpion E-MTB was built for high-performance mountain e-bikes and is resistant to their power. Its patented HyperWALL construction ensures the reliability of a downhill tire without excessive weight, while the SmartGRIP Gravity compound provides grip on dry and wet surfaces and offers excellent tear resistance thanks to an innovative and sustainable chemical component called Lignin. The tire is thus able to maintain its performance throughout its lifespan even with partial tread wear.

An innovative technology Pirelli has brought to the cycling world thanks to its experience and background in motorsport: a newly designed bead and sidewall construction that further enhances its features – rideability at low air pressures and pinch resistance. Key features for off-road use, especially in the most demanding disciplines like gravity and eMTB, are the bead integrity and sidewall stability. The sophisticated rubber tread pattern greatly relies on and behaves depending on bead and sidewall stability and integrity. Pirelli has introduced a construction where the bead and the sidewall rubber insert are firmly connected with a woven material stitch, making them behave as a single piece, not two separate components that can move relative to each other, a common standard in tire constructions. Benefits of this technology in numbers (based on Pirelli internal laboratory and practical tests): improved bead stability (+10%), better pinch resistance (+50%), better rideability at low air pressures (+25%), increased sidewall puncture protection.
The HyperWALL construction is a technology designed for mountain e-bikes, providing additional sidewall reinforcement and better puncture resistance. The rubber insert, firmly connected to the bead, offers excellent pinch protection and stronger support at lower inflation pressures.
