Pirelli Scorpion XC M ProWALL is a tire designed for XC and marathon. It features a low-profile block tread with small spacing between them for a fast and confident ride on any hard surface, in dry and wet conditions, thanks to the SmartGRIP compound.

USED TECHNOLOGIES IN GENERAL:

ProWALL
The protective sidewall reinforcement technology improves puncture resistance and provides more stable performance when using low air pressures in the tire. An additional layer of nylon fabric over the casing on the sidewall increases resistance not only to cuts and pinches but also enhances the overall tire behavior in corners, allowing for better bike control and more precise track holding. These characteristics were achieved without compromises on the tire's weight and efficiency in power transfer from pedaling, making tires with this technology perfect for racing XC deployment up to aggressive trail riding, when complemented by an appropriate casing (120tpi or 60tpi respectively).

SmartGRIP
This high-end rubber compound results from Pirelli’s experience gained from off-road racing circuits for 2 and 4-wheelers worldwide. Pirelli engineers developed a compound with two diametrically opposite properties:
• cut resistance: ensures maximum mechanical grip and traction in dry conditions and increased puncture resistance along with longer life
• chemical grip in wet conditions: there’s no need to think about changing conditions, whether it will rain or if there will be muddy and slippery sections on the track

The result is prolonged lifespan of the tire's driving characteristics, maintaining excellent grip and traction in contrasting conditions such as dry and wet, while also retaining these driving characteristics even as the tread wears out. Unlike multi-compound rubber compositions, the single-compound SmartGRIP ensures consistent driving properties throughout the wear and full lifespan of the tire. Greater mechanical resistance of the rubber also provides higher resistance not only to wear but also against punctures.
