On fast XC courses, the smallest details often make the difference: how easily the bike accelerates, how long it can hold the pace, and whether it will support you in a corner even when you’re already riding “on the limit.” The Pirelli Scorpion™ XC RH tire is built for exactly those moments—when you want to get the maximum speed out of hardpack without unnecessary losses.
Pirelli Scorpion™ XC RH is a race-tuned MTB tire for fast, firm surfaces where low rolling resistance and precise line control matter. The low center tread helps keep rolling quick and saves energy on long climbs as well as at marathon pace. More pronounced side knobs add support in corners and confidence in technical sections when the course throws in rocks or hard, occasionally broken ground. The Race XC Compound is focused on fast response, efficient power transfer under acceleration, and at the same time solid chemical grip even on slicker hard surfaces.
The tire is made in a size for a 29-inch rim diameter and with a 2.4-inch width, making it a good fit for modern XC and marathon bikes with an emphasis on stability. The 120 tpi casing supports low weight and smooth rolling, while reinforced ProWALL sidewalls increase protection and stability at lower pressure. It’s ready for tubeless use thanks to TLR (Tubeless Ready) technology, and the folding kevlar bead makes installation easier and convenient for carrying as a spare. In this specification, the tire weighs 725 g and comes in black.
Scorpion™ XC RH is the choice for riders who race XC laps, short XCC events, or marathons and want a fast tire for hardpack with control in corners. If you’re looking for a combination of efficient rolling, tubeless compatibility, and more durable sidewalls, this model makes a lot of sense.
